A study of the occurrence of GRCA Outstanding Sires and Outstanding Dams in Golden Retrievers
Consider a group of Golden Retrievers who hold at least 1 major AKC title and whose 5 generation pedigree in
K9data is complete. The following histogram details the number in each pedigree that were either an OS or OD.
The mean number is 34 per pedigree. However, as shown below, the number of OS and OD per pedigree has
been
increasing over the years. The following assumes that K9data pedigrees are correct.

CH Goodtime's Maine Squeeze OD has the largest number -> 62 out of a possible 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 = 63

The following table shows that the OS and OD numbers per pedigree have been increasing but the percentage
of OS and OD Goldens born in each decade have not. Goldens in the last decade have not had much of a
chance to produce many titled offspring.
The OS and OD titles are not used outside of North America. So the histogram for OS and OD numbers in a 5
generation pedigree shows many lacking any OS or OD ancestors.
