In early December 2010 we took a look at the 5 generation Golden Retriever pedigrees present in K9Data. ( no
Labs, test breedings, etc.) This resulted in 239,872 pedigrees. Of these 149,584 had complete 5 generation
pedigrees. The majority of these pedigrees contained ancestors that were repeated multiple times. The 149,584
complete pedigrees contained the names of 189,871 individual Goldens. This number is greater than the number of
complete 5 generation pedigrees because some in a complete 5 generation pedigree did not themselves have a
complete 5 generation pedigree.
The following table lists the top 25 Goldens who have the greatest number of occurrences in the 149,584 complete
5 generation pedigrees (multiple occurrences within a given pedigree are individually counted). In the top 25 there
were a number of English Goldens that were unfamiliar to us. This indicates that there are a large number of English
Golden pedigrees on K9data. Note that the only field dog in the top 25 is AFC Holway Barty OS. In the top 100,
AFC Yankee's Smoke'n Red Devil OS is 38th, Eng. FT. CH. Holway Westhyde Zeus is 60th ,NAFC FC Topbrass
